About chapters
What is a chapter? Usually a chapter is a group of collectors who share a similar collecting interest (Pabst items, for instance) or geographic location. There are two types of chapters: static and at-large. Static chapters tend to be geography-based and 'headquartered' in a specific place, while at-large groups are based on collecting interest with no ties to any specific region. The BCCA has chapters based in many states within the U.S. and in several other countries and several at-large chapters both in the U.S. and abroad.

Chapters are the backbone of the BCCA at a local level; the grass roots, one might say. It is through chapters that members have a voice at board meetings, meet with each other at a local level to network and trade breweriana, and advertise the benefits of the organization. Conversely, chapters are one of the ways the BCCA can communicate to its members the results of board meetings, club policy changes, etc.

It's not a requirement that BCCA members join a chapter, but most members are active in at least one chapter; some belong to several! There is such a diversity among the interests of these groups that nearly everyone finds a group that shares similar interests.

Most chapters were founded based on certain beer can collecting niches, and many still focus on cans, but some are dedicated to crowns, sports schedules and other breweriana items.

Below is a list of BCCA chapters and their corresponding contact person. Due to space limitations, the interest and location of each chapter is not included, but several contain links to Web sites where you can find more information about a chapter's focus.
